Once you have decided on a topic write a 1-page formal proposal taht discusses what you hope to research and analyze in the novel. Your proposal should have: a possible thesis for the paper, two possible outside sources you might include and what they discuss, and a few(2-3) discussion points that you will include. Be as specific as possible. Consider the proposal a sort of outline of sorts to help you prepare for the essay.
