review discussion

Part 1

Thank you note for the following feed back in 100 words. Need to say thank you for pointing out citing with last author as 2 poems in the essay and sometimes it’s confusing with just line numbers

and in my final essay i more focused on moral judgment and simple vocabulary and rewrite the whole essay as for the feedback

Here is my feedback for your draft.

– While your thesis is specific and does state the argument of your essay, some of the vocabulary is quite intricate, and some readers may have trouble understanding what you mean. For example, I am not quite sure what you mean by “moral concern purported affection,” so maybe try to make the wording a little more clear.

– Because you do not talk about moral judgment specifically in the third body paragraph, instead focusing on the symbolic relationships in the poems, I would suggest removing the last few words in the last sentence that says “and the issue of moral judgment.” Instead, maybe end off with concluding what the symbolism suggests or adding more detail as to how the symbolism in the poems contributes to the issue of moral judgment.

– There are relevant details and quotations within the paragraphs. However, some in-text citations are unclear as to whether the quote is being taken from D.H. Lawrence’s “Snake” or Alden Nowlen’s “Bull Moose.” Make sure to either add the author’s full name or last name into the sentence where the quote is integrated or in the in-text citations so it is clear which poem you are taking the quote from.

Switching some of the more complicated vocabulary in the introduction to make it more precise is a suggestion, as some of the wording may not be used correctly, which makes some of what you are stating harder to understand.

Part 2

As a way of reviewing course material for the final exam, we’re going to have an Awards forum. The goal is to refamiliarize ourselves with the course materials, in a mildly fun manner.

You can nominate a candidate for the category below, explaining why you think your nominee is suitable

Your nominees should be from works studied in the course, and your post should be approximately 100 words. Please title your post according to category.

A work I think more people should read/view-“The Bull Moose” by  Alden Nowlan(Poem attached as a pdf).DO NOT COPY THE FOLLOWING POST. I NEED SIMPLE WORDING, SOMETHING FUN AND SIMILAR TO THIS WHICH GOES WITH THE TOPIC.

The award for a work I think more people should read/view goes to the “The Bull Moose” by Alden Nowlan. This story demonstrates many things such as the unfair power dynamic we have with nature, the power that nature still has, how awful we treat nature and the respect nature deserves. The story follows a moose who eventually gets trapped in a fenced field with cattle. After a while humans start showing up and taunting the moose. Furthermore, doing awful atrocities such as pouring beer in its mouth, mocking the moose, and making the moose look ridiculous for photos. In the end the moose gets killed by the humans. This was a result of the moose getting fed up with the antics of the humans and retaliating. All the while the humans get to go on with their lives. In short, this work was the most influential to me and something I will take away for life.

Part3- Post a comment in 50-80 words for the following post-I need to say in the comment , that I agree with her, as when I grew up in Sri Lanka , I faced the same as a girl, especially the quotes, girls don’t slam doors and sit properly legs close to each other(story attched as a pdf).

A work I think more people should read/view is “Boys and Girls” by Alice Munro. Alice Munro is a Canadian author and her story “Boys and girls” is about a young girl who struggles to conform to the expectations placed upon her. The story is based on gender stereotypes and a lot of girls might have gone through the same environment growing up. It has a lot of powerful passages, and is very interesting to read. Just on the first page, I truly wanted to read more and fell in love with this short story. I think it is a story I won’t forget and will always remember. The things that were said to the main character mean a lot to me as it reminds me of the same gender stereotypes that I went through growing up.  Ex reply for a different work:

Hi , you did a great job on your forum! I have enjoyed reading through your forum and viewing your opinion on the documentary. I also found the documentary to be very interesting and informative teaching us about the life and behaviors of chimpanzees. I also found Jane’s approaches to the research quite interesting and refreshing as most of the time when research is being conducted is it usually only from a scientific viewpoint which is what you mention as well.
