Staff Training Workshop — Narrated PowerPoint (Scroll all the way down.)

You may work alone or with up to a total of 3 people in a team.

Be sure that EVERYONE’S name is included on the first slide so that everyone will receive credit for the assignment. Have one student “submit” it, but the others should still click the “submit” button (even if there is nothing in the field so that I can post your grade.

It only needs to be submitted by one person in the group.

Each person (or team) is to research a topic and present the topic via PowerPoint.

The PowerPoint should consist of a minimum of 12 slides.

Narrate – add voice to each of the slides. If you submitted the Practice Powerpoint you know how to do this. Here is a reminder.

It is in two different formats to make sure you can open the file

Use bullets whenever possible. Do not put too much text on the slides.

DO NOT READ DIRECTLY FROM THE SLIDES. Points will be deducted for this.

Remember that your audience is either your staff or parents. Be sure that the information relates directly to your intended audience.

ALTERNATIVE TO NARRATED POWERPOINT

If you are unable to create a narrated (recording your voice) you may do the following:

1. Create the PowerPoint as you normally would. 2. Instead of recording your voice, write out a script explaining everything you would say if you were recording it or if you were giving the workshop in person.

3. Number each slide on the script and write out exactly what you would say about that slide.

4. Attach your script and your PowerPoint in the assignment section.

5. I will review the script while I am clicking through your PowerPoint.

6. Be sure to have enough content on each slide to make the presentation informative and meaningful. It should last a minimum of 10 minutes if you were presenting it — but longer is fine. You may actually wish to use this at some point, so work hard on it.

Sample Script

Slide 1: Welcome! My name Ellie Camino and I would like to welcome you today’s workshop. The focus of this presentation is on creative art and creative movement. They are topics that I consider to be consider very, very important and reflect the philosophy of the El Camino Childhood Education Department.

Slide 2 Why is fostering creativity and Imagination important?

Here some famous quotes from Albert Einstein. Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited to all we know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know and understand.

He also said: It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge. Creativity is intelligence having fun.
