Leadership Style

2. Leadership Style/Individual Presentation: The goal of this assignment is to give insight into yours or your manager’s leadership style. From Unit I in your textbook, students will analyze and synthesize the content of chapters 1-3. Please read the articles in Module 3 and incorporate in your supporting assignment literature. By using a personal or professional example, you will identify yours or your manager’s current leadership style and choose which modern leadership style may be more effective in your workplace and state why. Note at least 3 competencies currently implemented and their effectiveness. Close with a summary and conclusion with recommendations for improving leadership. This will be a 10 – 12 slide PowerPoint presentation using APA format, with an introduction, conclusion, and reference page. Each person will be given 5-10 minutes to present. This assignment addresses Course Competency #1.

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to define and discuss characteristics and theories of leadership and management by: • Discussing Benner’s model of novice to expert. • Exploring other management theories and their application to the nursing profession. • Applying leadership and management theories into nursing practices.
